DUDJOM’S LINEAGE

The Dudjom lineage was established in 1835 by Dudjom Lingpa who is considered a mind manifestation of Guru Rinpoche and the body manifestation of Drogben Lotsawa, one of the 25 main disciples of Guru Rinpoche. It is also believed that in one of his previous lives, Dudjom was sariputra, a renowned disciple of Buddha Shakyamuni.

Dudjom Jigdrel Yeshe Dorje (1904-1987) was the direct incarnate of Dudjom Lingpa, who excelled in scholarship and became a renowned Buddhist master who was called on by the Tibetan government in exile to become the spiritual leader of Nyingma sect. His sphere of influence extended across all sects and across continents.
